Sunday November 1, 2009

Top of the Morning to you,

We greet you in Divine Love, we pray that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!!

Let's first start with Brother Samuel David Carter. Brother Carter was put up for appointment for a Deacon. On Friday he went through the examination process that morning at 10:00am. The examining council was Pastor Xavier Maddox of the 24th Street Baptist Church, Pastor Albert Suggs of the Parkwood Full Gospel Baptist Church, Pastor Vincent Wilson of the New Life Baptist Church, and Pastor Quinton Dorsey of the Concord Baptist Church. Thank you brethern for supporting the work that God has assigned to my hands.

Well they examine Brother Carter from 10:00am to about 11:45am. Brother Carter passed his examination with a 86.4 score.

The appointment service was at 7:00pm where Pastor Xavier Maddox and the 24th Street Baptist Church was our guest. The word came from Luke 14:28 and the subject was "The Cost" The Service was great as usual. I've got to say to Deacon Samuel David Carter that I am so very proud of what God is doing in your life!!!

Now let me deal with the title of this service, it was call an appointment service. I believe the present day church is so out of order!! We have been using the term ordination service for Deacons which puts them on the same level as the Pastor/Preacher and its not so. In Acts 6 it says that we may appoint over this business. Which simply means that the Deacons serve out of the office of the Pastor! Watch this, the Deacons serve the Pastor, not the church. The Pastor serves the church!!!! Preach JD!!!!!!!

On Saturday from 5:00pm to 10:00pm we Hallelujah Night! Hallelujah night was an alternative to Halloween. Now we as believers do not participate in Halloween but I was always taught that if you can take something away from the children you need to put something in place to replace it. Well to my surprise Pastor Scott(our Youth Pastor) and his team did an awesome job!!! They had bobbing for apples, pin the tail on the donkey, dart boards, PlayStation 2, the Wii, Etc... We even played spades and Sister Amanda Peoples and I ran the spades table!!!(You Go Boy) Now there was a Pie tossing event where members paid to toss pies at Pastor Scott and I. Can you believe a member paid $20.00 to toss pies at me. It was $1.00 a toss!!! We had so much fun!!!!!

We started this Sunday off at 9:00am with New Member's class, and Sunday School started at 9:30am. The Sunday School lesson was, The Beauty of Nonconformity coming from I Peter 1:13-25. We had an awesome time! Class #4 my class won the Banner Offering and Banner Attendance today!! We had a baptism this morning!!! The Lord is still doing an awesome work at the New Beginning Church!!!

Service started at 11:00am and I saw some new faces in the choir and they did an awesome job!! This month of November I am teaching a Series on Family and Relationships. We have a lot of engaged couples that are planning to get married in 2010. So we want to make sure that they are well prepared! 3 people came to the Lord this morning, look at God!!

Anyway wanted to do my blog earlier today, because I'm about to get on the road and head home to watch the New Orleans Saints beat up on the Atlanta Falcons!!! Who Dat Baby!!!! Please pray for my safe travel and return, plus I get to go and see my mommy and nem!!!!

Top of the Afternoon to you!!!

We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!!

We started this Sunday off at 9:00am with new member's class. Sunday School started promptly at 9:30am. I am so excited that our Sunday School is growing. Please help me welcome a new teacher to our Sunday School staff, Sister Paulette Gabriel is teaching our babies,(class #1) 0-6 years of age. Of course Class #1 won our Banner attendance and Class #3(Teen Class) won our Banner Offering.

Of course this was our 4th Sunday Worship which means our youth were in charge of the service. Everybody did an awesome job. Our Youth Dance Ministry dance today and did an awesome job. I was so very proud to see little Brother Brondon Harris on the Dance Ministry, he did an awesome job.

Last week I concluded the series I had been preaching for the last two months, "Re-Laying the Foundations. So this morning I stood and gave the State of the Church Address. Of course I think it was beneficial to the family of the New Beginning Church, but we shall see if they acted on it.

That evening at 4:00pm we celebrated our 2nd year church anniversary. Pastor Farnsworth Coleman and the New Birth Outreach Ministries was our very Special Guest. Please let me thank God for Sister Jennifer Rudd and Sister Leona Brunson for doing an awesome job of leading our congregation in this special event. I am so Godly proud of both of these young ladies.

The New Birth Outreach praise team brought our church to another level with the Praise & Worship. Our Deacons, the Deacons of the New Beginning Church did an awesome job with the Devotional Period(You go Brother Harris).

There was a part in the service where we remembered to persons who were apart of this ministry and have passed from this life, Sister Mary Bolling and Sister Shayla Owens. We lit candles for them and prayed with and for their families. We also had a part in the service where we recognize the generations in our church. Persons who were born before 1946 wore black, persons born from 1946 to 1965 wore brown, persons born from 1966-1982 wore grey and persons born from 1983- present wore red. We played a gospel song that was popular in that generation in let those generations represent their generation it was a blast!!!(thanks Sister Harris).

Pastor Coleman preached from I Chronicles 29:1-3,7,18-19 and his subject was: "A pattern for provision for the vision!! He told us that we have to use God's pattern as our blueprint!!! It was an on time word for the house.

After service we sat and ate in fellowship with one another!!!

Thank you Lord for another year!!! If you would like to get a CD or DVD of our 2nd Year Church Anniversary leave your mailing address on here and we will ship one out to you!!!!

Top of the Morning to you,

We greet you in Divine love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!

Let me first start off with our weekend, on Friday Night October 16, 2009, our church was on program to host revival at the Greater Miracle Christian Church, in Columbus, Georgia. Pastor Branddon Mays was the Host Pastor. Rev. Patrick Ivey of Stone Mountain, Georgia was the evangelist. Pastor Ivey preached from Ezra 8:21-23,31-32 and his subject was enough of talking the talk and not walking the walk!! Man when I tell you it was an on time word, you had to be there to understand!!! Our mass choir the Voices of New Beginning did an awesome job as usual!!!

On Saturday I got up early to get to our District Convention, The 4th District Convention of General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc. The convention was being held at the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. Pastor Hawthorne Reed was the Host Pastor. Listen when I tell you that if you did not make it to this year convention, you missed a tremendous blessing. I was able to attend the Minister's Division, and I must commend Pastor Corey Neal of the Greater Peace Baptist Church and his staff for doing an awesome job this year in our Division. The Division was inspiring and uplifting!! Pastor Kennedy from Lanett, Alabama was off the chain.

Alright on Sunday morning we started at 9:00am with New Member's class and at 9:30am we went right into our Sunday School hour, let me say to Sister Nakita Bell the Superintendent of our Sunday School, that she is doing an awesome job. We now have 4 classes, our Sunday School is growing!!!!! The lesson this morning was: "Pleading for Mercy" the print text came from Mark 7:24-30 it was an awesome lesson!!!

Worship started this morning at 11:00am well the weather changed outside so it was a bit cold and our attendance this morning for worship was down, but those of us who did show up for worship had an awesome time!! Our choir blessed us in song and the Word went forward!!
I close out the series,"When the Foundations be Destroyed what can the righteous do?" I preached from Matthew 16:18 and Acts 2:47b. The subject was "Let the church be the Church"

Well its been a busy weekend for me so I am debating if I want to travel to Houston, Texas. Bishop I. V. Hilliard is having his pastoral conference this week, preachers have been telling me his conference is one of the most informative conferences. So pray for me as I contemplate this decision!!!

Sunday October 11, 2009

Top of the afternoon to you,

We greet you in Divine love and our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.

We began this Sunday with New Member's class at 9:00am and we started our Sunday School at 9:30am. The Sunday School lesson was Restored to Wholeness coming from Mark 5:1-13, 18-20. The lesson was a blessing. Our Banner attendance went to class #1 and our Banner offering went to the adult class!!

We had Baptism this morning with 2 souls going down in the liquid grave. We thank God for the Linwood Baptist Church and Pastor Marion Hester who allowed us to use their baptismal pool.
Service started promptly at 11:00am, now remember we just finished our Dunamis Conference "09" on Friday not and I must tell you that it was an awesome conference and Apostle Lionel Catchings of the Christ Temple of Atlanta Church was on time with the word from the Lord.
The reason I share with you about Dunamis is the fact when we started at the 11:00am hour church was full!!! Normally after revival folk are tired and stay home on Sunday but not at the New Beginning Church, we showed up and showed out.

Our Male Chorus was in charge of the song service. Thank you Brother Richard Harris for your dedication with the Male Chorus, we did an awesome job.(which means I sing with the Male Chorus)(Smiling)

The word for the house came from I Kings 8:10-11 and the subject as we continued the series of When the foundations be destroyed what can the righteous do?, was A Church that recognizes the Cause and Effect of the Glory!!! Listen when I tell you that the message was on time and awesome, if you were not there you missed a tremendous blessing!

The 1st point was there has to be structure(order). Its something about black folk that we don't let order. The 2nd point was there has to be prioritization, we have to learn to prioritize. The 3rd point was parallazation.

After service we took pictures for our Church Anniversary that will take place on Sunday October 25, 2009 at 4:00pm.

On Thursday Night Apostle Catchings preach from the topic "Structure." He stress the importance of having Order in the House of the Lord. The message was so powerful that it was so quiet in the house that I knew our family members were listening and receiving the instructions for our house.

On Friday Night Apostle preached about stages(Platforms). Pastor Leo Cyrus and the Wynton Hill Baptist Church was our guest. He talked about 4 points. The first was have a vision(dreams) of course this sermon dealt with the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis. The second was a pit, a place where the Lord will have you placed to develop you, mature, equipped you. The third point was Integrity, he stated that the church no longer has integrity(WOW). We don't do what we say we will do!!!!!! The last point was perseverance, be able to go through some difficult days in remain faithful!!!!

Listen our church was on a fast praying for a word from the Lord and thank God that we receive it!!!!

Can't wait until tomorrow to stand and declare the Word of the Lord!!!!!

Man I tell you what he better be thankful that he is living in this generation because singing like that, he would have to be ducking form some purses, bibles, hymnals and hats, because granma nem would clear a couple of pews listening to that man sing. Keep up the good work Pastor Ellison!!!!

Sister Tina Harris who is the President of our Music Ministry, thank you for leading your ministry with excellence I am so very proud of you and the Voices!!!

We started off with prayer service at 6:00am and New Members Class. Bible Class started off at 7:00pm and again I am so proud of those members who constantly press their way to be in Bible Class. We are still studying the Vision of the House. We have 13 vision statements. We have covered the first two vision statements which are. 1) A Church that must fulfill the great commission. 2) A God-glorifying, Christ centered, Holy Spirit Empowered, people oriented church.
Bible Class was great as usual.

This Saturday we had our Youth Ministry meeting at 10:00am, they broke off at 10:30am to their different groups: Youth Choir, Youth Ushers, Junior Deacons and Youth Praise Dancers. I must tell you that I was very impressed to see our children being active in the Youth Ministry. That afternoon at about 4:00pm we took our Youth Ministry to Dave & Busters in Atlanta, Georgia. Man when I tell you we had a blast, it was off the chain!!!!! It was so fun, and can I tell you I brought my fun with me!!!(Smile)

Sunday started at 9:00am with New Members Class and then we with in to Sunday School at the 10:00am hour. Class #2 which is our teen class won the banner attendance and class #3 which is the adult class(the class I teach) won the banner offering. The lesson was awesome.
We started morning worship at the 11:00am hour, our Youth were in charge of service. The youth were really awesome!!!! I preached from Psalm 11:3 and Romans 12:2. I started this series last week, "When the Foundations are being destroyed, What can the righteous do?" Today I preached "Transformers". The word was awesome!!!!

At 6:00pm went to a friends fellowship service at New Life Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Vincent L. Wilson. Pastor Branddon Mays of the Greater Miracle Christian Church was the speaker. We had an awesome time!!!! Please keep us lifted up in prayer!!!!

Sunday August 16,2009

Top of the afternoon to you,

We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.

Let me first start with our Bible class that was held on Wednesday night. Again we are studying the series, "The Vision of the House" making sure that all disciples that worship at the New Beginning Church understand the assignment of our church. I'm excited that the family presses there way to be there.

On this past Friday we had our "Back to School Explosion" Pastor Quinton Dorsey was our speaker ministering to our children. Pastor Dorsey did an awesome job. We were able to give out free school supplies. Also on this Friday after service we had 5 souls to go down in the liquid grave. Hallelujah!!!!

On this Past Sunday Morning New Member's class went forth at 9:00am and then at 10:00am we started our Sunday School. Class #1(Children) won the banner attendance and Class #3(Adults) won the banner offering.

Service started promptly at 11:00am, as usual our choir did an awesome job. This Sunday I started a new series called, "Going back to the Basics" coming from Psalm 11:3 When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do? I think we all can agree that our world is Topsy Turvey, our world is in a mess, but if the church would take its rightful place we can save this generation!!!! Thank God for another soul being added to the kingdom.

At 3:00pm was our annual Men's day, Pastor Jeffrey Dancey of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church was our very special guest. He preached from Psalms 37:11 "The steps of a good man" The service was off the chain. We concluded our day with our associational music at the Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Top of the evening to you,

We greet you with Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. We started this Sunday at 9:00am with New Member's class and our Sunday School started at 10:00am. Of course our Sunday School was a tremendous blessing, I am Proud to announce that we are in our Sunday School attendance month and can I tell you that class #1 won the banner attendance and banner offering!!! Oh Yeah Class #1 is our Children's Class.

Service started promptly at 11:00am and this Sunday was the introduction of our Male Chorus, listen our Male Chorus did an awesome job with our song service today(I sing in the Male Chorus).

The message came from Luke 24:36-40 and the title of the message was "Let me show you my Scars" the focus was on verse 40 and it says: When he had said this, He showed them His hands and His Feet.

We focused on that fact that all of has scars! This sermon was so powerful, that folk were being delivered from some past hurts and some secret things that had happen to them. 4 more souls were added to the kingdom of God!!! Praise he keeps on adding to the church.

At 3:00pm we had our Annual Youth Day, Our Youth Pastor, Brother Marcus Scott did an awesome job for our very 1st Youth Day. Let me thank Pastor Corey Neal and the Greater Peace Baptist Church and Pastor Vincent L. Wilson and the New Life Missionary Baptist Church for allowing their Youth Ministries to be apart of this special occasion.

We have a busy week this week on this Friday we will have our Back to School Youth Explosion on this Friday at 7:00pm where we will give out free school supplies, and then Sunday at 3:00pm is our Men's Day celebration!!!!

Sunday School was a tremendous blessing. As we start this month of August this is our Sunday School attendance month where we encourage every member to come out to Sunday School, and every member make a special effort to be present and on time. The banner attendance went to class #1 and the banner offering went to class #3.

Our Morning worship started at the 11:00am hour and I just believe that everybody was ready to have an awesome experience in service today. The "Voices of New Beginning" song today and they were off the chain. The word came from Joshua 1:2 and the subject was "crossing over". Man God truly blessed the house, I mean folk went to shouting and running it was a blessing. Another soul was added to the kingdom.

Our Sunday Morning service started promptly at 11:00am. This was our youth Sunday so the youth were in charge of service. One of the Sons of the house preach this Sunday morning, Brother Marvin D. Churchwell, He preached Matthew 7 and dealt with being Judgemental, another soul was added to the Kingdom!!!!

This Past Wednesday we started a new series in our Bible Class, We are Studying the Vision of the House. Which is the Vision for the New Beginning Church!!! On this past Thursday our youth we are in charge at the Greater Peace Baptist Church, where my friend and brother Pastor Corey Neal is the Senior Pastor. Pastor Quinton Dorsey the Youth Pastor at the Concord Missionary Baptist Church was the guest speaker. Our Youth Ministry did an awesome job and Pastor Dorsey did an awesome job.

Please keep us in prayer as we are heading into the last part of this year and looking for GOD to do a greater work at the New Beginning Baptist Church!!!!!

Top of the afternoon to you,

We greet you in Divine Love, We pray that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. We started this Sunday off at 9:00am with New Member's class in the fellowship hall. At 10:00am we went right into our Sunday School hour. Sunday school was a tremendous blessing!!! At 11:00am our morning worship kicked off. Our Adult choir was singing and they did a marvelous job as usual. For whatever reason I was so ready to preach the word today. My Text came from Deuteronomy 34:5 - Joshua 1:2a and the subject I preached was "Moses is Dead!!!!"

The word went forward to day in such a powerful way!!! Moses represents the past, the former, the old!!. So whoever is reading this blog that's your confirmation, your past is dead!!! You can't move forward living in the past!!!!

After this powerful word went forward 7 people came forward and united with our church family!!! God is still adding to the church!!!

Top of the afternoon to you all,
We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.
Let me start this off that I just got back into town on this past Saturday and I am so exhausted, but I am truly glad to be back home. Let me first say to Lil Sister Christian Harris, our prayer's go out to you and your family on the passing of your father! Christain always remember that God is in total control.
When I got back Saturday of course we had our monthly leadership meeting, I meet with my leaders to make sure everything is running well in their particular ministries, and then I had to rush to the funeral of one our members loved ones. So I was still running soon as I got back to Georgia.
Sunday was fourth Sunday which means our children were in charge. We began at 9:00am with New Members Class and Sunday School started at 10:00am. Our Sunday School was a tremendous blessing.
Our Morning Worship started at 11:00am, our youth choir did an awesome job, our youth praise dance minister in dance, I mean the whole service was off the chain. Now this Sunday service was packed out, I don't know if they missed me when I was gone our what, but to see all of church family members did something to me. Anyway I'm drying my tears. I was glad to be back at the New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church.
This Sunday I preached from John chapter 4, and my subject was, "Come see a Man". I tell you God truly blessed the house with the word and 3 souls were added to the Kingdom!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!
My Birthday was Monday June 22 and because I was out of time I invited the church to come to my surprise Birthday Pool Party at my house. We had an awesome fellowship at the house. Can't wait till Bible Class.

PS Happy Father's Day (Belated) to all Fathers

Top of the afternoon to you,

We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.

We started this Wednesday at 6:00pm with Prayer Service in the main sanctuary and New Member's class in the Fellowship Hall.

Bible Class started promptly at 7:00pm and we concluded the lesson of, "Getting God's Church back in order." of course we finish with the qualifications for the Pastors and the Deacons.

Our Discussion centered around Deacons being filled with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost leads you back to the truth(The Word of God). So if He leads you back to the Word of God, why do Deacons constantly tells us they don't care what the bible says, this is the way we do this here at this church!!! Would love to here what you think?

Top of the afternoon to you,

We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.

This Sunday we started at 9:00am with New Member's class, Sunday School started at 10:00am. Sunday School was a tremendous blessing. Worship service started at the 11:00am hour. This Sunday was a very special Sunday for me, it marked my 23rd year of preaching the word of God. Yes I started this journey of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ at the age of 12. Everybody was on post, the choir was off the chain, and I preached the Sermon that I preach 23 years ago, the 23rd Psalm.

My Subject was after 23 years the Lord is..... When I tell you that the Lord met us at the New Beginning Church, all I have to tell you is that you missed it. Another soul was added to the Kingdom of God and now we have 75 more souls to go to reach our goal for the year.

On this past Friday, we travelled to the Hidden Treasures Church of God in Christ in Richland, Georgia. Pastor Juan Lane was our host. We had a wonderful time in Richland and Leslie you truly blessed us with that solo!!!!

Top of the Afternoon to you,

We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. Prayer service started at 6:00pm in the Sanctuary with New Member's Class going on in the fellowship hall.

Bible Class started promptly at 7:00pm and the right side of our church was full with the disciples willing to be taught the word of God. Of course we are still teaching the series "Getting God's church back in order." As we started studying that deacons were not given by God, Acts 6:1-7, The Apostles(Pastors), because there arose a problem in the church, the Apostles(Pastors) put Deacons in place. The Word of God does not say, "the Business," it says "this business," which means the Deacons did what the Apostles told them to do. How far have we drifted from the word the Deacons are now telling the Pastors what to do. Bible Class was a tremendous blessing.

Please pray for us our church will be travelling to Richland, Georgia on Friday to the Hidden Treasures Church of God in Christ, Pastor Juan Lane.

Morning Worship started this Sunday at the 11:30am hour and man I tell you Worship was off the chain. The Choir was awesome and they song my new favorite song, WAIT!!! After the choir minister this song I was so ready to preach!!

As I stood this morning to break the bread of life, my text came from Luke 5:1-11 and the subject was "What do you do when you have failed?" The Points was: 1) Tell Jesus, 2) Do Exactly what he says 3) Worship Him.

The message was a timely word, I believe the house was tremendously blessed!!!

Top of the afternoon to you,
We greet you in Divine Love our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.

This Wednesday we started at 6:00pm with prayer service in the main sanctuary and New Member's class in the fellowship hall. Bible Class started at 7:00pm and we are still studying, "Getting God's church back in order." Ephesians chapter 4. We shared with our class that God did not give deacons, that it was the Apostles who put Deacons in place, because the church was growing, deacons were given to serve the Apostles. In other words, the Deacons answer to the Pastors, not Pastors answering to the Deacon Board.

How did we get so out of order to where the appointed(Deacons) are telling the anointed(Pastors) what to do. Somebody answer that for me please!! I've heard deacons say, "revvvv we serve these people!!!! Nooooooooooo, the deacons work out of the office of the Pastor, and answer to the Pastor!!!!

Somebody tell me what do you think!!!

Top of the afternoon to you,
We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.

This Sunday we started at 9:00am with our New Member's class and Sunday School started at 10:00am. Our Sunday School was a tremendous blessing. Service started at the 11:00am hour. Thank You New Beginning for going after souls these summer months. Our theme for this summer is Each one Reach one, we are believing God for more souls this summer!! Our Combine choir song today, that's our youth and adult choir making the Voices of New Beginning, and man when I tell you they were off the chain, trust me yall, they brought the house down.

We had a bunch of visitors this Sunday sharing with us, so our evangelistic thrust is working!!! Again visitors thank you so much for visiting our church, we pray that there was something said or done that would make you want to come back and visit us again, and when you come back please bring someone with you.

The word came from Genesis 22:1-2 and the subject was "How to tell God Yes" When you have been waiting on a promise and you finally get what you've been waiting for, and as you are enjoying the blessing, God comes and say do away with it!!! WOW!!!! The word was powerful and another soul was added to the family of New Beginning!!!!

Have you ever had a hard time telling God yes, share that moment with us!

That evening at 4:00pm our church travel to the Locust Hill Baptist Church in Midland, Georgia Pastor by our Moderator, Pastor E. Merle Brown. The Mount Calvary Association had a youth fellowship. Our Youth Praise Dancers, Youth Choir, Youth Drama and Youth Debater's had to perform and, I tell you that God has bless New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church with some of the greatest youth this side of heaven!!!

This Sunday we started at 9:00am with New Member's class and Sunday School started at 10:00am. Our morning worship started promptly at 11:00am, this Sunday was our youth Sunday. The Junior Deacons did an awesome job for devotion and our youth choir was fantastic. I preached today from Matthew 16:18 and my subject was "The Church" today at 2:00pm we are dedicating our new worship facility and I wanted to give some Pastoral impartation to our family before the actual service!!! God bless the word that went forth and I do believe it was received by the family of New Beginning.

At 2:00pm was our Building dedication as we gave the facility back to the Lord. Our Speaker for the evening was Pastor Vincent L. Wilson of the New Life Baptist Church here in Columbus, Georgia. He came from Psalm #90, man when I tell you that Pastor Wilson preach, believe you me, Pastor Wilson showed out!!!!

Pastor E. Merle Brown of the Locust Hill Missionary Baptist Church our Moderator of the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Association brought us greetings from the association and Pastor Corey Neal of the Greater Peace Baptist Church brought us greetings on behalf of the 4th District President of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia. Top of the Afternoon to you,

We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. Let me first say thank you for those of you who read and follow this blog. Thanks for your interest, to the family of New Beginning let me say to you that I greatly appreciate you following along with the blog, but this is no substitute for you not coming to worship or Bible Class because you know it will be posted on the blog!!!(smile)

Anyway this Wednesday started at 6:00pm with prayer service in the main sanctuary and New Member's class in the fellowship hall. Of course the deacons and the deaconess did an awesome job with prayer service.

Bible class started at the 7:00pm hour, of course we reviewed the series "Getting God's church back in order" Those scriptures up to this point is Matthew 16:18, Hosea 4:6, Jeremiah 3:15, Romans 10:17, Romans 10: 14. So tonight we started the lesson in Ephesians 4: verse 1, It reads, I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called.

I believe this scripture was our discussion scripture for the entire class because it makes all of us look at our own selves. We broke this scripture down to worthy-means faithful or committed, vocation-means job, and called-means chosen. The discussion went something like this if Paul is telling you to be committed to the job that God has chosen you for how can you miss a Sunday? If you miss that Sunday who will do your job? WOW!!!! Great Discussion huh? Tell me what you think!!!

If God has chosen you for a specific job in the church and you are suppose to be committed to it, how can you not come to worship or bible study or Sunday School?

Top of the Afternoon to you,
We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. On Friday Night our church went to the revival at the Wynton Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. Man let me tell you, Pastor Jonathan Carter was off the chain. He preached Psalms 124 and he talked about the snares being broken. It was a timely word for me so of course I got my praise on.
On Sunday Morning we began at 9:00am with New Member's Class and Sunday School started promptly at 10:00am. Our Sunday School lesson was great as usual, and the banner attendance went to Class #2 my class, which is the teen class, and the banner offering class went to Class #1 the Children's class.
This Sunday I had one of my friends come and share with us, now checked this out, On Wednesday night pass, someone shared with me that my friend lost his church(The Deacons), so I called him to encourage him, because I've been where he is, and I asked him does he have a place to preach on Sunday, he said no, and I asked him to come and share with our church family. Let me say this to all preachers who may be reading my blog. There ought to be a brotherhood, a fraternity, a covenant that we make with one another, to be there for each other, I didn't want to know what happened at his church, didn't care who was right or wrong, I just knew that my brother was going through and I wanted to be there for him. I make the same declaration to all of my colleagues we are in this together, when you hurt I hurt, when you cry I cry, when you rejoice, I rejoice. This is a lonely journey and even though our Lord and Savior has said that he would never leave us or forsake us, there are times, we feel all alone!!!!(Let me get off my soap box)
My friend preached from John 14:1-4, and Job 14:14 and his subject was let not your heart be troubled. When I tell you this man blessed the house, he blessed the house. God Bless you man of God. The choir was awesome as usual and service was very high.
Now check this out please and your prayer time, lift me up in prayer I am going through a tremendous transition in my life, but I know God is in control!!!!

Top of the afternoon to you,
We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.

We started this Wednesday with prayer service in the main sanctuary and new member's class in the fellowship hall. Both ministries were very good. At 7:00pm we started our Bible class, the lesson we are studying is getting God's church back in order. Our Scripture reference is Matthew 16:18, Jesus says he will build HIS church. Which means it has nothing to do with our opinions and thoughts, its about what he(Jesus) says.

We started this lesson off with trying to understand what is it about African-Americans that we don't like order(Structure, Rules, Regulations). In our discussion we already know that other ethnicity's have issues but we just wanted to discuss the African American problems. We discuss it being a generational curse, we discuss we are just tired of everyone telling us what to do. So our discussion became very lively. Our Scriptures that we looked at was Hosea 4:2 Jeremiah 3:14, Romans 10:17, Romans 10:14. Bible class was awesome as usual and our attendance was great. Way to go New Beginning, God is pleased with you!!!

On Friday night our church will be travelling to the Wynton Hill Baptist Church for their Spring Revival Pastor Bruce O. Alford is the Senior Pastor/Teacher. The Revivalist for the week is Pastor Jonathan Carter of the Siloam Church in College Park, Georgia. Our Choir will be singing and our officers are in charge of service. Please pray for us as we continue to do the assignment that God has for us!!!

Top of the Afternoon to you,
We greet you in Divine Love and our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!! This Past Mother's Day we had an awesome service, let me first give God praise for the 3 greatest women in the world, My Mother Donna Johnson, My Grandmother, Ernestine Johnson and My Aunt, Carolyn Johnson. These 3 women played a major part in raising me, and I want them to know that they are loved and are appreciated, Happy Mom's Day Yall!!!

Sunday started at 9:00am with New Member's class, again the Lord is blessing us in that area. At 10:00am Sunday School started, the banner offering went to class #3 the Adult Class and the banner attendance went to class #1 the Children's Class.

Worship started promptly at 11:00am and I tell you service was jammed packed, thank you Lord for filling the house. We gave out roses to every mother that attended service today and for they youngest mother who was 22 years old we gave $25.00 cash and for the oldest mother we gave $50.00. Congratulations to Mrs. Liquitta Brown and Mrs. Elliott.

I concluded our Body Building series with Can you stand to see my dirt, coming from John 13:1-9, 12-15. The message was a tremendous blessing. It convicted and converted. What impressed me the most was that after service persons were reconciling their relationships. Let me say to the person I offended, and you know who you are, I truly thank God for you and I value our friendship and thank you for forgiving me for me wrong!!! Always know that I love you in spite of.

Service was great, and because my family(Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt) is in New Orleans, LA, one of my deacons and his wife invited me to come to their house to eat mother's day dinner. It was my first time eating Hog Mog(I hope I spelled it right) and eat was off the chain.

Sunday May 3, 2009

Top of the Morning to you, We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. We started the first Sunday of this month off at 9:00am with new member's class and then Sunday School started promptly at 9:30am. We had a great class about being in the family of God. Class #2 the teen class won the banner attendance and class #3 the adult class won the banner offering. We had to baptize this Sunday, So we were able to use the Linwood Baptist Church Pastor by Marion Hester. We had another soul go down in the liquid grave, it set the atmosphere for worship. Morning Worship started at 11:30am with the deacons doing devotion and the choir lead us in Praise & Worship. The Atmosphere was awesome I continue the series called Body-building, the title of this sermon was called "Can't we all just get along" Still dealing with right relationships in the Body of Christ. The Word was powerful and another soul was added to the family, which leaves us with 77 more souls to go this year to reach our goal of 100 souls.
Wednesday May 6, 2009 we had a Memorial Service at 5:00pm for Brother Edward Miller III, a brother who worked with our young men at the church. He passed from this life on Saturday May 2, 2009. Ed we love you man, thank you for the memories. New Member class started at 6:00pm in the fellowship hall while prayer service went on in the main sanctuary. The lesson we are teaching now is "getting God's church back in order" We dealt this week with what is a Pastor? and Who gives Pastor? I guess you can imagine the discussion was off the chain. We talked about if according to Jeremiah 3:15, the Lord gives Pastor, how can we get rid of them because, we don't like them anymore, or they don't do what we want them to do?
I would love to hear your input in this discussion!!! Leave me a message on my blog!!!!

This Wednesday we started at 6:00pm with prayer service in the main sanctuary and new members class in the fellowship hall. Our Deacons and Deaconess are in charge of our prayer service and it sounded like they were having a grand ole time. I taught our New Members class and this week two more persons have completed their course and will receive their certificate this Sunday.
We began Bible class promptly at 7:00pm we have concluded the series What we believe as a Baptist. So I started off with a review just to make sure that our teaching is not in vain!!! The new series we started Wednesday Night was getting God's church back in order.
We all agreed that the Church of the Living God has gotten out of order so we decided to look at scripture so that we can make sure that New Beginning is operating the way the Lord wants it to. The first Scripture we studied was Matthew 16:18 and we got a clear understanding that the church belongs to God!!
Now look me ask you a question bloggers!!! If the church belongs to the Lord, why do we keep trying to put our opinions in it?
That's one of the question we shared in class. Would love to know what you think!!

Sunday April 26, 2009

Top of the afternoon to everyone!! We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!! I do apologize that this has been an extremely busy week for me so let me start with last Wednesday at Bible Class.
We started at 6:00pm with New Member's Class and in the main santuary the Deacons and the Deaconess led us into prayer service. Again i'm encouraged about the souls who are joining our ministry because they are going through thier new member classes.
Bible Study started promptly at the 7:00pm we are still studying What we believe as a baptist, the Articles we studied today were:
Article XVII The Righteous and the Wicked- We believe that there is a radical and essential difference between the righteous and the wicked; that such only as through faith are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and sanctified by the Spirit of our God, are truly righteous in his esteem; while all such as continue in impenitence and unbelief are in his sight wicked, and under the curse; and this distinction holds among men both in and after death.
Article XVIII The World to Come- We believe that the end of the world is apporaching; that at the last day Christ will descend from heaven, and raise the dead from the grave to final retribution; that a solemn separation will then take place; that the wicked will be adjudged to endless pinishment, and the righteous to to endless joy; and that this judgement will fix forever the final state of men in heaven or hell, on priincipls of righteousness.
We finally finished this series that we started in January and I believe the family members of the New Beginning Church can stand flat footed in share with anyone what they believe as a baptist.
On this past Sunday we started with New Member's Class at 9:00am and then Sunday School started promptly st the 10:00am hour Class #3 the adult class won the banner offering and of course class #2 the teen class which is my class won the banner attendance!!!! Way to go young people!!!!! Our Morning Worship started at the 11:00am hour, this Sunday was 4th Sunday which means our Youth Ministry was in charge!!! Our Youth Choir was off the chain today, RoRo and Destiney led a song and had the church hopping!!!! Our youth praise dancers, dance and I mean they did a magnaficent job.
This sunday I started a series call Body-Building!!! As our church is growing I believe God wants us to make sure that we set some rules in place right now!!! This message came from Matthew 18:15-20 and the subject of this 1st sermon was, "This is how we do it" and the message was dealing with conflit, and issues that arises in church. The points were you need to deal with them in the right order, right away, with the right attitude, for the right reason. This message was a tremendous blessing to our church family and God endorsed with 4 more souls being added to our church family!!!! Thank you Jesus for all you are doing with and to the New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church!!!!!

Sunday April 19, 2009

Top of the morning to you, we greet you in Divine Love, and our prayer is that you and your church family are walking under an open heaven!!!!!!!! Let me say first I am excited about what the Lord is doing at the New Beginning Church!!! This Sunday we started at 9:00am with our New Member's class, we had to do a Sunday morning class to accommodate those persons joining our ministry that can not make it on Wednesday Nights at 6:00pm. the reason we put these classes an hour before our teaching ministries is because we want to get the new members accustom to coming out to our teaching ministries!! The motto of our church is a Purpose Driven fellowship where we are Reaching People, Building Faith, and EQUIPPING DISCIPLES. Our Sunday School started at 10:00am and the Teen Class won the banner attendance, and the adult class won the banner offering!!!!
We started service at 11:00am and family of New Beginning came out in full force this Sunday, our choir was awesome as usual and set the atmosphere for worship!!! This Sunday I preached from 4 different passages of scriptures, Luke 2:49, John 4:34, John 9:4, John 18:11 and the subject of the message was the Secret of Jesus Success. The message was on time and another soul was added to our church family!!!(Praise God)
Starting next Sunday I will start a series at our church call Bodybuilding, the Lord has release me to share with our family some key issues that will help us grow and be more effective for the Kingdom, and I am excited about it. So I'm looking forward to sharing with you those services!!!!!

Top of the morning to you, we greet you in Divine Love, and our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!!
We started this Wednesday at 6:00pm with prayer service in the sanctuary, and we had new members class in the fellowship hall. Again we thank God for a church that still believes in the power of prayer!!! Of course I am grateful for the Lord adding to the church, and the folk that he is sending is attending the new members class.
Our Bible study started promptly at 7:00pm, we picked up with Article XV and XVI, let me give them to you: Article XV The Christian Sabbath- We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord's Day, or Christian Sabbath; and is to be kept sacred to religious purposes, by abstaining from all secular labor and sinful recreation; by the devout observance of all the means of grace, both private and public; and by preparation for that rest that remaineth for the people of God.
Article XVI Civil Government- We believe that civil government is of divine appointment, for the interests and good order of human society; and that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed; except only in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience, and the prince of the kings of the earth!!!
Of course we had a wonderful discussion in class and we closed out our bible class with our bible drill and we had so much fun!!! See you next time!!!

Top of the morning to you, we greet you in Divine Love, my prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!! It's a game that help you find the books of the bible fast. It was awesome!! So i decided to put it in our Bible Class toward the end, about the last 15 minutes!!!!
Before I go any further let me give my condolences to the family of Pastor Joseph Andrews of the Metropolitan Baptist Church and the President of the IMA. He passed last Monday!!!!
This past Sunday on Resurrection Sunday we begin with Sunday School at 10:00am, the banner offering went to the adult class and the banner attendance stayed with my class, the teen class!!! Of course our attendance was awesome, we were packed because of this Sunday, I was excited about our church family members inviting their families to worship!!! I preached from Philippians 3:10, and Luke 18:33 "I will rise again" . The service was awesome the choir was off the chain, and another soul was added to the kingdom. Sunday School was good as usual, class #3 won the banner offering, the adult class and class #2 won the banner attendance, way to go teens!!! We had baptismal service at 10:30am, again we graciously appreciates Pastor Marcus Gibson and the Shady Grove Baptist Church for allowing us to baptize with them. We had 2 souls to go down in the liquid grave(Praise God).
We got back to New Beginning and worship service started at 11:30am, it was raining outside so our crowd was small, but the presence of God was great!!! The choir was off the chain as usual and this Sunday we had a visiting praise dancer, who blessed in the ministry of dance(she was truly awesome)

Wednesday April 1, 2009

Top of the evening to everyone, we greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!!
We started this Wednesday night at 6:00pm with New member's class and prayer service!! Before our Spring Revival this year in March, we had two days of prayer and it set the atmosphere for our Spring Revival!!! So we implemented a prayer service on Wednesday nights from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Our Deacons and Deaconess are in charge of this service!!! I was teaching our new members class in our fellowship hall and was able to hear the saints singing and praying I was so encouraged. Thank you New Beginning for being a church that doesn't mind praying!!!
Well at 7:00pm we started our Bible Class and of course we are still studying, "What we believe as a Baptist!!" We did two more articles. article #12 and #13. They are as follows: XII- The Harmony of the Law and the Gospel- We believe that the law of God is the eternal and unchangeable rule of his moral government; that it is holy, just, and good; and that the inability which the Scriptures ascribe to fallen men to fulfill its precepts arises entirely from their love of sin; to deliver them from which, and to restore them through a Mediator to unfeigned obedience to the holy Law, is one great end of the gospel, and of the means of grace connected with the establishment of the visible church. Article XIII- A Gospel Church- We believe that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by his laws; and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by his word; that its only Scriptural officers are bishops, or pastors and deacons, whose qualifications, claims, and duties are defined in the epistles to Timothy and Titus.
You can imagine that we had an awesome time and discussion. One of the discussions we had was if we as a Baptist believe in these articles of faith and we say that we are governed by his laws(which is the Bible) why do we as Baptist run to the By-laws like they are the Bible I would love to hear your comments!!! Leave me a post!!!!!

Top of the Evening to everyone, we greet you in Divine love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!!
On this past Wednesday we came together at 6:00pm for our prayer service, as we are trying to but the emphasis back on be a praying church!!! We started our bible class promptly at 7:00pm, we are still studying "What we Believe as a Baptist"! We picked up tonight with article number X. Sanctification: We believe that sanctification is the process by which, according to the will of God, we are made partakers of his holiness; that it is a progressive work; that it is begun in regeneration; and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, the Sealer and Comforter, in the continual use of the appointed means, especially the word of God, self-examination, self-denial, watchfulness, and prayer.
The Second article we studied was article number XI. The Perseverance of Saints: We believe that such only are real believers as endure unto the end; that their persevering attachment to Christ is the grand mark which distinguishes them from superficial professors; that a special Providence watches over their welfare; and that they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation!
I am so very proud of the family of New Beginning because they are coming out to be taught the word of God!!! Way to go family!!!

Well our morning worship service started promptly at the 11:00am hour, it was raining outside but the family of New Beginning Church pressed their way through(shucks now). The atmosphere was great because Dr. Keith Witherspoon left some fire after our revival, as I was sitting in the pulpit mediating one of the sons of the house, asked me if I was ok, because coming after Dr. Witherspoon has got to be a hard task, I told him yes sir it is, and I should have made him(the son) preach this morning!!!!(LOL)
Anyhow the choir was off the chain as usual, and I close our series on this past Sunday!! I preached from I Peter 5:10 and the subject was, "Watch us after this" the Lord showed out in a mighty way and another soul was added to the family!!!
On Monday March 16, 2009 my pastor, Pastor Elliott Williams of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia is in revival at the Concord Baptist Church in Salem, Alabama. I went over to support him, he preached from Psalms 43, his subject was the Power of Prayer!!!. My pastor did an awesome job sharing the word with the people of the Concord church!!!
