What we Believe as a Baptist

Top of the Morning to you!!!
We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!
We do apologize for not being able to post on last week, because we were moving into our new facility, but Bible class was back in place this past Wednesday!! Of course we started this Wednesday with New Members Class at 6:00pm and I'm still excited that folks who are uniting with our ministry is very serious about, because they are attending the New Members Class!!! This New Member Class I had to teach 2 lessons because of the week we missed, so we did. The 2 lessons were the Baptist Church and Stewardship. Now there may be some of you out there in blog land who are questioning why are we emphasizing "The Baptist Church" The reason is because we are in an area that have a lot of Methodist Churches and some people were raised in the AME church. So we want to make sure they understand the baptist church!!(AMEN)
In the Baptist Church we talk about the 2 Ordinances 1) Baptism and 2) The Lord's Supper, we also talked about the officers in the church, The Pastor and the Deacons. The last lesson was Stewardship, of Course we shared with our new members the importance of tithing and giving a liberal offering, and getting involve in the Ministry.
For our Bible Class lesson we reviewed the 6 Articles we already gave out so that everybody can be on the same page. Tonight we gave out Article 7 and 8. Here they go Article 7 Of Grace in Regeneration: We believe that, in order to be saved, sinners must be regenerated or born again; that regeneration consists in giving a holy disposition to the mind; that it is effected, in a manner above our comprehension, by the power of the Holy Spirit in connection with divine truth, so as to secure our voluntary obedience to the gospel; and that its proper evidence appears in the holy fruits of repentance and faith and newness of life.
Article 8 Of Repentance and Faith: We believe that repentance and faith are sacred duties, and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the regenerating Spirit of God; whereby, being deeply convinced of our guilt, danger and helplessness, and of the way of salvation by Christ, we turn to God with unfeigned contrition, confession and supplication for mercy; at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our Prophet, Priest and King, and relying on him alone as the only and all-sufficient Saviour.
Of course bible class was a blessing and members are showing up to learn!!! Thank you New Beginning for being a informed church!!!!

This Past Sunday

Top of the afternoon to everyone. We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!
Well this Sunday began with Sunday School at the 10:00am hour, and again we had an awesome lesson and turn out for Sunday School. Class #1 won the Banner Offering and Banner Attendance, did I mention to you guys that class #1 is 0-12 years of age!!! (WOW)
Service was awesome this Sunday, our hymn of the month of February is Lift every voice and sang, and we finally did a great job with it this Sunday. (Thanks Sister Harris for getting that together)
The message I shared with our church family, came from Genesis 29: 31-32 and the subject was: Do you Love me now that I can Dance? Because Valentine's Day was that Saturday I tried to share with our family about love. God truly blessed through His word and another soul was added to our church family which leaves us with 92 Souls left to go to reach our goal of 100 souls for the year 2009!!!
This week we canceled our Bible Study and New Members Class as we moved into our new facility. I tell you what, God is continuing to bless the New Beginning Church Family!!!
Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to try to reach more souls for the Kingdom!!

What we Believe as a Baptist

Top of the morning to you all, we greet you in Divine Love, we pray that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!
Wednesday we had new members class at 6:00pm, I thank God for the new members who are excited about becoming apart of the family of New Beginning Church. The Lesson we studied in new members class was "Growing as a Christian" we dealt with five principles, let me give them to you, Principle 1. You must read the bible. Principle 2. You must Pray. Principle 3. You must have a church fellowship. Principle 4. You must witness for Christ. Principle 5. You must obey God. When we dealt with Principle 2, you must pray, we focused on 4 important areas of prayer: 1)Adoration, 2)Confession, 3) Thanksgiving, 4)Supplication. The class was an awesome class.
We started our mid week bible class at 7:00pm, we are still studying the Articles of Faith, Wednesday nights Article was, Article 6, The Freeness of Salvation- We believe that the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the gospel; that it is the immediate duty of all to accept them by a cordial, penitent, and obedient faith; and that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the gospel; which rejection involves him in an aggravated condemnation.
We were sharing with the family that not matter how bad we think a person is, they still can be saved by the grace of God!!
Let me ask you this question and I am watching for your responses, what is it in us that makes us think that child molester's and drug dealers can't be saved!!!!

Our Sunday School is growing. This Sunday was a special Sunday because it was my Pastoral Installation, so one of my sons in the ministry preached at the 11:00am service, Minister Cortez Miller, he came from Philippians 3:13-14, and 2 Timothy 4:6-8 and his topic was Keep Pressing On!!!! 2 Souls united to our church family and now we have 3 waiting candidates for Baptism. We baptism on 1st Sundays, so we are excited about our candidates.

Randy Stephen and our Moderator of the Mount Calvary Baptist Association, Pastor E. Merle Brown, and all the Pastors, Ministers and Friends who came out to make this celebration an awesome one. What we believe as a Baptist

Top of the morning to you,
We greet you in Divine Love, my prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!
This past Wednesday we started our New Member's Class at 6:00pm and it was pretty good, we had 2 persons show up for the class out of the 5 who joined this past Sunday!! Any Pastor who is reading this blog know that, that is an awesome turn out. Of course I am teaching this class so that the New Members can get a chance to talk to their pastor one on one. The reason why I put the New Member's class on Wednesday nights right before Bible Class is because I want the New Members to become acclimated to coming to church on Wednesdays so they can come to Bible Class!!
This past Bible Class we are still studying what we believe as a baptist, and we got a chance to get to two more Articles of Faith, let me share them with you:
Article V- Justification- We believe that the great gospel blessing which Christ secures to such as believe in him is justification; that justification includes the pardon of sin, and the promise of eternal life on principles of righteousness; that it is bestowed, not in consideration of any works of righteousness which we have done, but solely through faith in the Redeemer's blood; by virtue of which faith his perfect righteousness is freely imputed to us of God; that it brings us into a state of most blessed peace and favor with God, and secures every other blessing needful for time and eternity.
Article VI- The Freeness of Salvation- We believe that the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the gospel; that it is the immediate duty of all to accept them by a cordial, penitent, and obedient faith; and that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the gospel; which rejection involves him in an aggravated condemnation.
Again the point of this series that we are teaching in our Bible Class is to make the Disciples of New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church, Biblically astute, and that they will be able to defend it to non-believers.
Can I close with this? Do you know what it is that you believe? leave me a comment!!!

This Past Sunday

Well top of the afternoon to all of you,

We greet you in Divine Love and our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!! I know its been a minute since the last time I blogged so please forgive me and let me bring you up to speed.

I went home for my grandfather's funeral and it was awesome, I got a chance to see some of my family members and we had a ball!!! I was sharing with my mother that for whatever reason i thought we were from Pontiac, Michigan because I remember being up there as a child attending my grandfather's church, True Light Baptist Church. She said no that we are, the family is from Lakeland, Louisiana. So we buried my grandfather by his mom and dad!!

Anyway our bible class is still awesome!! We are still studying what it is that we believe as a Baptist. I was able to get to Article 2-4, let me share them with you!!

Article II The True God- We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose name is Jehovah, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

Article III The Fall of Man- We believe that man was created in holiness, under the law of his Maker; but by voluntary transgression fell from that holy and happy state; in consequence of which all mankind are now sinners; not by constraint; but choice; being by nature utterly void of that holiness required by the law of God, positively inclined to evil; and therefore under just condemnation to eternal ruin, without defense or excuse.

Article IV The Way of Salvation- We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace; through the mediatorial offices of the Son of God; who by the appointment of the Father, freely took upon him our nature, yet without sin; honored the divine law by his personal obedience, and by his death made a full atonement for our sins; that having risen from the dead he is now enthroned in heaven; and uniting in his wonderful person the tenderest sympathies with divine perfections, he is every way qualified to be a suitable, a compassionate, and all-sufficient Saviour.

So those of you who are following our bible class that's were we stopped on this past Wednesday, January 28, 2009. on Sunday January 25, 2009 we had a full schedule, we had our 11:00am service and our youth were in charge, it was a wonderful blessing to see and hear our Junior Deacons, Marquise, Deondre, Desmond and Dominic lead us in our devotion and our youth choir sound like a 200 voice choir. New Beginning youth Department is off the chain!! Our Youth Pastor, Bro. Marcus Scott shared the word on that Sunday, who by the way did an awesome job!! We had a 3:00pm service for our Installation of Officers Pastor Connie Joiner and the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Phenix City, Alabama came and made this event successful. To our leaders, let me say I'm proud of each and every one of you and I encourage you to do what you do as unto the Lord, be faithful to your assignment and watch God bless New Beginnings in a very real and special way. After our 3:00pm service we travel to Lagrange, Georgia for our 4th District Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia Ministers Division Quarterly Fellowship. It was held at the New Beginning Baptist Church where the Rev. William Harris serves as the Senior Pastor. Pastor Vincent Wilson of the Nazareth Baptist Church brought the word, He came from Mark 4:37-39 and his title was A Great Storm!!! I told Pastor Wilson that it should be against the law for somebody to preach like that!! He was awesome!!! We had at least 20 people from the Minister's Division who was there. The whole Sunday was great, the family members who attend our Ministry truly was blessed the whole day, and was not tired from running all day, matter of fact the question was asked to me Pastor when we gone do that again!!!(smiling)

Alright this past Sunday February 1, 2009 Superbowl Sunday was awesome!! We started the morning at Sunday School, and our Sunday School is growing tremendously, our teachers are great and there is a friendly competition between the classes to get the banner offering and banner attendance. Check this out Class #1 which consist of our children ages 0-12 keeps winning the banner offering, I mean this past Sunday they raise $50.00!!! Did I tell you that the ages for that class is 0-12!! (LOL) but class #2 which is our teen class ages 13-17 keeps winning the banner attendance!!! I told yall that New Beginning Youth Department is an awesome Youth Department. Because it was Superbowl Sunday I Preached the Superbowl that was held at Calvary coming from I Corinthians 15:55. We praise God for 5 souls that came to the Lord!! That evening one of my sons in the ministry celebrated his 1st year Pastoral Anniversary, Pastor Daniel Thomas of the New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Marvin, Alabama. So I got a chance to go and be with him on that evening. My day closed watching the game!!
