Sunday May 3, 2009

Top of the Morning to you, We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. We started the first Sunday of this month off at 9:00am with new member's class and then Sunday School started promptly at 9:30am. We had a great class about being in the family of God. Class #2 the teen class won the banner attendance and class #3 the adult class won the banner offering. We had to baptize this Sunday, So we were able to use the Linwood Baptist Church Pastor by Marion Hester. We had another soul go down in the liquid grave, it set the atmosphere for worship. Morning Worship started at 11:30am with the deacons doing devotion and the choir lead us in Praise & Worship. The Atmosphere was awesome I continue the series called Body-building, the title of this sermon was called "Can't we all just get along" Still dealing with right relationships in the Body of Christ. The Word was powerful and another soul was added to the family, which leaves us with 77 more souls to go this year to reach our goal of 100 souls.
Wednesday May 6, 2009 we had a Memorial Service at 5:00pm for Brother Edward Miller III, a brother who worked with our young men at the church. He passed from this life on Saturday May 2, 2009. Ed we love you man, thank you for the memories. New Member class started at 6:00pm in the fellowship hall while prayer service went on in the main sanctuary. The lesson we are teaching now is "getting God's church back in order" We dealt this week with what is a Pastor? and Who gives Pastor? I guess you can imagine the discussion was off the chain. We talked about if according to Jeremiah 3:15, the Lord gives Pastor, how can we get rid of them because, we don't like them anymore, or they don't do what we want them to do?
I would love to hear your input in this discussion!!! Leave me a message on my blog!!!!

  1. What is a Pastor? A Pastor is a ‘shepherd,’ one who is in control of sheep or as biblically said a 'flock'. A Shepherd: genuinely cares for the welfare of others, and not using them as a means to one’s own ends, strengthens the weak, chiefly by empowering them to solve their own problems by looking to the Lord first and also opening their hearts to others in the Body of Christ; not fostering an unhealthy dependence on other humans, heals the sick and injured of all types—emotionally, physically, and spiritually, actively searches for the spiritually lost, bringing the strays back into the fold for their own protection and blessing, leads with gentleness and patience by example and persuasion, not by flaunting one’s position or by coercion (manipulation), unifies “the sheep” around a common vision of a meaningful life of service to others under God’s faithfulness and bountiful provision. As stated in Jeremiah 3:15 the Lords give us shepherds who will lead us with knowledge and understanding..
