Sunday May 24, 2009

Top of the afternoon to you,
We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your ministry are walking under an open heaven.

This Sunday we started at 9:00am with New Member's class and Sunday School started at 10:00am. Our morning worship started promptly at 11:00am, this Sunday was our youth Sunday. The Junior Deacons did an awesome job for devotion and our youth choir was fantastic. I preached today from Matthew 16:18 and my subject was "The Church" today at 2:00pm we are dedicating our new worship facility and I wanted to give some Pastoral impartation to our family before the actual service!!! God bless the word that went forth and I do believe it was received by the family of New Beginning.

At 2:00pm was our Building dedication as we gave the facility back to the Lord. Our Speaker for the evening was Pastor Vincent L. Wilson of the New Life Baptist Church here in Columbus, Georgia. He came from Psalm #90, man when I tell you that Pastor Wilson preach, believe you me, Pastor Wilson showed out!!!!

Pastor E. Merle Brown of the Locust Hill Missionary Baptist Church our Moderator of the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Association brought us greetings from the association and Pastor Corey Neal of the Greater Peace Baptist Church brought us greetings on behalf of the 4th District President of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia. Service was awesome and refreshments were served.

Top of the Afternoon to you,

We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. Let me first say thank you for those of you who read and follow this blog. Thanks for your interest, to the family of New Beginning let me say to you that I greatly appreciate you following along with the blog, but this is no substitute for you not coming to worship or Bible Class because you know it will be posted on the blog!!!(smile)

Anyway this Wednesday started at 6:00pm with prayer service in the main sanctuary and New Member's class in the fellowship hall. Of course the deacons and the deaconess did an awesome job with prayer service.

Bible class started at the 7:00pm hour, of course we reviewed the series "Getting God's church back in order" Those scriptures up to this point is Matthew 16:18, Hosea 4:6, Jeremiah 3:15, Romans 10:17, Romans 10: 14. So tonight we started the lesson in Ephesians 4: verse 1, It reads, I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called.

I believe this scripture was our discussion scripture for the entire class because it makes all of us look at our own selves. We broke this scripture down to worthy-means faithful or committed, vocation-means job, and called-means chosen. The discussion went something like this if Paul is telling you to be committed to the job that God has chosen you for how can you miss a Sunday? If you miss that Sunday who will do your job? WOW!!!! Great Discussion huh? Tell me what you think!!!

If God has chosen you for a specific job in the church and you are suppose to be committed to it, how can you not come to worship or bible study or Sunday School?

Top of the Afternoon to you,
We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. On Friday Night our church went to the revival at the Wynton Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. Man let me tell you, Pastor Jonathan Carter was off the chain. He preached Psalms 124 and he talked about the snares being broken. It was a timely word for me so of course I got my praise on.
On Sunday Morning we began at 9:00am with New Member's Class and Sunday School started promptly at 10:00am. Our Sunday School lesson was great as usual, and the banner attendance went to Class #2 my class, which is the teen class, and the banner offering class went to Class #1 the Children's class.
This Sunday I had one of my friends come and share with us, now checked this out, On Wednesday night pass, someone shared with me that my friend lost his church(The Deacons), so I called him to encourage him, because I've been where he is, and I asked him does he have a place to preach on Sunday, he said no, and I asked him to come and share with our church family. Let me say this to all preachers who may be reading my blog. There ought to be a brotherhood, a fraternity, a covenant that we make with one another, to be there for each other, I didn't want to know what happened at his church, didn't care who was right or wrong, I just knew that my brother was going through and I wanted to be there for him. I make the same declaration to all of my colleagues we are in this together, when you hurt I hurt, when you cry I cry, when you rejoice, I rejoice. This is a lonely journey and even though our Lord and Savior has said that he would never leave us or forsake us, there are times, we feel all alone!!!!(Let me get off my soap box)
My friend preached from John 14:1-4, and Job 14:14 and his subject was let not your heart be troubled. When I tell you this man blessed the house, he blessed the house. God Bless you man of God. The choir was awesome as usual and service was very high.
Now check this out please and your prayer time, lift me up in prayer I am going through a tremendous transition in my life, but I know God is in control!!!!

Wednesday May 13, 2009

Top of the afternoon to you,
We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.

We started this Wednesday with prayer service in the main sanctuary and new member's class in the fellowship hall. Both ministries were very good. At 7:00pm we started our Bible class, the lesson we are studying is getting God's church back in order. Our Scripture reference is Matthew 16:18, Jesus says he will build HIS church. Which means it has nothing to do with our opinions and thoughts, its about what he(Jesus) says.

We started this lesson off with trying to understand what is it about African-Americans that we don't like order(Structure, Rules, Regulations). In our discussion we already know that other ethnicity's have issues but we just wanted to discuss the African American problems. We discuss it being a generational curse, we discuss we are just tired of everyone telling us what to do. So our discussion became very lively. Our Scriptures that we looked at was Hosea 4:2 Jeremiah 3:14, Romans 10:17, Romans 10:14. Bible class was awesome as usual and our attendance was great. Way to go New Beginning, God is pleased with you!!!

On Friday night our church will be travelling to the Wynton Hill Baptist Church for their Spring Revival Pastor Bruce O. Alford is the Senior Pastor/Teacher. The Revivalist for the week is Pastor Jonathan Carter of the Siloam Church in College Park, Georgia. Our Choir will be singing and our officers are in charge of service. Please pray for us as we continue to do the assignment that God has for us!!!

Sunday May 10, 2009

Top of the Afternoon to you,
We greet you in Divine Love and our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven!!!! This Past Mother's Day we had an awesome service, let me first give God praise for the 3 greatest women in the world, My Mother Donna Johnson, My Grandmother, Ernestine Johnson and My Aunt, Carolyn Johnson. These 3 women played a major part in raising me, and I want them to know that they are loved and are appreciated, Happy Mom's Day Yall!!!

Sunday started at 9:00am with New Member's class, again the Lord is blessing us in that area. At 10:00am Sunday School started, the banner offering went to class #3 the Adult Class and the banner attendance went to class #1 the Children's Class.

Worship started promptly at 11:00am and I tell you service was jammed packed, thank you Lord for filling the house. We gave out roses to every mother that attended service today and for they youngest mother who was 22 years old we gave $25.00 cash and for the oldest mother we gave $50.00. Congratulations to Mrs. Liquitta Brown and Mrs. Elliott.

I concluded our Body Building series with Can you stand to see my dirt, coming from John 13:1-9, 12-15. The message was a tremendous blessing. It convicted and converted. What impressed me the most was that after service persons were reconciling their relationships. Let me say to the person I offended, and you know who you are, I truly thank God for you and I value our friendship and thank you for forgiving me for me wrong!!! Always know that I love you in spite of.

Service was great, and because my family(Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt) is in New Orleans, LA, one of my deacons and his wife invited me to come to their house to eat mother's day dinner. It was my first time eating Hog Mog(I hope I spelled it right) and eat was off the chain.

Sunday May 3, 2009

Top of the Morning to you, We greet you in Divine Love, our prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven. We started the first Sunday of this month off at 9:00am with new member's class and then Sunday School started promptly at 9:30am. We had a great class about being in the family of God. Class #2 the teen class won the banner attendance and class #3 the adult class won the banner offering. We had to baptize this Sunday, So we were able to use the Linwood Baptist Church Pastor by Marion Hester. We had another soul go down in the liquid grave, it set the atmosphere for worship. Morning Worship started at 11:30am with the deacons doing devotion and the choir lead us in Praise & Worship. The Atmosphere was awesome I continue the series called Body-building, the title of this sermon was called "Can't we all just get along" Still dealing with right relationships in the Body of Christ. The Word was powerful and another soul was added to the family, which leaves us with 77 more souls to go this year to reach our goal of 100 souls.
Wednesday May 6, 2009 we had a Memorial Service at 5:00pm for Brother Edward Miller III, a brother who worked with our young men at the church. He passed from this life on Saturday May 2, 2009. Ed we love you man, thank you for the memories. New Member class started at 6:00pm in the fellowship hall while prayer service went on in the main sanctuary. The lesson we are teaching now is "getting God's church back in order" We dealt this week with what is a Pastor? and Who gives Pastor? I guess you can imagine the discussion was off the chain. We talked about if according to Jeremiah 3:15, the Lord gives Pastor, how can we get rid of them because, we don't like them anymore, or they don't do what we want them to do?
I would love to hear your input in this discussion!!! Leave me a message on my blog!!!!

Wednesday April 29, 2009

Top of the Morning to you, we greet you in Divine Love, my prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.
This Wednesday we started at 6:00pm with prayer service in the main sanctuary and new members class in the fellowship hall. Our Deacons and Deaconess are in charge of our prayer service and it sounded like they were having a grand ole time. I taught our New Members class and this week two more persons have completed their course and will receive their certificate this Sunday.
We began Bible class promptly at 7:00pm we have concluded the series What we believe as a Baptist. So I started off with a review just to make sure that our teaching is not in vain!!! The new series we started Wednesday Night was getting God's church back in order.
We all agreed that the Church of the Living God has gotten out of order so we decided to look at scripture so that we can make sure that New Beginning is operating the way the Lord wants it to. The first Scripture we studied was Matthew 16:18 and we got a clear understanding that the church belongs to God!!
Now look me ask you a question bloggers!!! If the church belongs to the Lord, why do we keep trying to put our opinions in it?
That's one of the question we shared in class. Would love to know what you think!!
