Wednesday April 29, 2009

Top of the Morning to you, we greet you in Divine Love, my prayer is that you and your family are walking under an open heaven.
This Wednesday we started at 6:00pm with prayer service in the main sanctuary and new members class in the fellowship hall. Our Deacons and Deaconess are in charge of our prayer service and it sounded like they were having a grand ole time. I taught our New Members class and this week two more persons have completed their course and will receive their certificate this Sunday.
We began Bible class promptly at 7:00pm we have concluded the series What we believe as a Baptist. So I started off with a review just to make sure that our teaching is not in vain!!! The new series we started Wednesday Night was getting God's church back in order.
We all agreed that the Church of the Living God has gotten out of order so we decided to look at scripture so that we can make sure that New Beginning is operating the way the Lord wants it to. The first Scripture we studied was Matthew 16:18 and we got a clear understanding that the church belongs to God!!
Now look me ask you a question bloggers!!! If the church belongs to the Lord, why do we keep trying to put our opinions in it?
That's one of the question we shared in class. Would love to know what you think!!

  2. If the church belongs to the Lord, why do we keep trying to put our opinions in it? Because we as people have bombarded and trampled over what the purpose of the Church really is. The church is to teach biblical doctrine so we can be grounded in our faith. It ‘s a place of fellowship, where Christians can be devoted to one another and honor one another, instruct one another, be kind and compassionate to one another, encourage one another and most importantly love one another. The church is a place where believers can observe the Lord’s Supper, remembering Christ’s death and shed blood on our behalf. The church is to be a place that promotes prayer, teaches prayer, and practices prayer. Our opinions don’t matter. So the reason why we put our opinions into what god has created is because we don’t want to live that holy life pleasing to God. We are actually trying to add to what God created which the bible forbids us to do. Deut. 4:2 says we are to not add nor take away from the word of God. Mark 7:7-10 says we are not to substitute the Word of God with our humanly decisions. Our opinions and decisions don’t matter because God has the last say so in everything. ----Delilah
